Purpose:Finding the best teaching method is an issue that has attracted the attention of behavioral scientists today. In line with this discussion, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of teaching game for understand on real and perceived motor competence in comparison with the traditional method in futsal games. Method:The statistical population of this study was all children aged 9-12 years in Ahvaz (M age = 10.7 and SD = 1.41). The interventions were designed for futsal skills, so two groups of subjects (20 people in each group) practiced with TGFU and linear method. Perceived motor competence was assessed with the Intrinsic Motivation Questionnaire and actual motor competence was assessed with the Bruninx-Oseretsky test. Exercises were presented for two months in 16 sessions, each session lasting one and a half hours. The results of independent t-test showed motor proficiency (t (1.38) = -3.52, pi = 0.00) and perceived motor competence (t (1.38) = -2.44, pi = 0.02). TGFU is significantly more than the linear group. The results of this study have shown the effectiveness of play-related teaching methods compared to the linear method that can be used in schools and kindergartens.
