Purpose: The present study aimed to predict anxiety in athlete students based on integrative self-awareness with the mediation of mentalization. Methods: The research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population consisted of all athlete students studying Physical Education and Sport Sciences at Qom Medical Sciences University, from which 453 participants were selected by availabily sampling. The research instruments included Beck Anxiety Inventory, Integrative Self-Awareness Scale, and Dimitrijević et al.'s Mentalization Scale. Structural equation modeling was conducted using fit indices based on SPSS and AMOS softwares. Results: Results indicated that anxiety was predicted by integrative self-awareness in athlete students (P= 0.001, β = -0.400). Anxiety was also predicted by mentalization (P= 0.001, β = -0.449) in athlete students. Furthermore, anxiety was predicted based on integrative self-awareness mediated by mentalization (P= 0.001, β = 0.324). Conclusion: In conclusion, anxiety in athlete students was predicted by integrative self-awareness with the mediation of mentalization. Therfore, it is recommended that to reducing anxiety in athlete students should involve considerating the variables of integrative self-awareness and mentalization.
