The effect of character empowerment on the self-efficacy of sports managers with the mediating role of responsibility

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of character empowerment on self-efficacy of sports managers with the mediating role of responsibility.Methods: The sample group consisted of 279 senior managers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the heads of sports federations who were selected by stratified-random sampling method.Research tools, standard questionnaires of Seligman and Patterson character competence (2004), Self-efficacy of prentic and colleague(1982) and responsibility of Carol and Stuartz (2003). The reliability of the questionnaires was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha.Results: Structural equation method was used to analyze the data. The results showed a good fit of the data with the model.(2.16 =x2 and  0.07 =  RMSEA)Conclusion: The results confirmed the important role of responsibility on the relationship between character empowerment and managers' self-efficacy.
