Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was determining validity and reliability of the Persian version of the Processes of change in Psychological Skills Training Questionnaire.
Methods: For this purpose, 270 atheltes (men and women) with different levels of skills (Novice, subelit and elite) in 11 different fields (individual and team), were chosen by random sampling and completed the Persian version of the Processes of change in Psychological Skills Training Questionnaire. At first it was confirmed by using translation-back translation method and face validity and translation accuracy. For determining questionnaire constructive validity of confirmatory factor analysis based on structural equations model was used for determining questionnaire Internal consistency of Cronbach alpha coefficient was used for temporal reliability of items intra-class correlation coefficient under test-retest method was used to study temporal reliability of items.
Results: The results showed that the Persian Version of the Processes of change in Psychological Skills Training Questionnaire was favorable fit indexes. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that Fit index(X2/DF=1.41, CFI=0.971, TLI=0.945, RMSEA=0.039) and Internal consistency (0.85) and temporal reliability (0.70) among young athletes were suitable. Conclusion: The Persian version of the Processes of change in Psychological Skills Training Questionnaire can be characterized as a valid and reliable tool to study and evaluate the Processes of change in Psychological Skills Training of Iranian athletes in different levels of skills (Novice, subelit and elite) will benefit.
