Fitting the Model of Psychological Factors on the Participation of Education in Championship Sports

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a model of factors influencing educational and training participation in championship sports.

The research method was of a descriptive-correlational type. The statistical population included all employees of sports organizations, such as the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the National Olympic Committee, and - the General Department of Sports and Youth in Tehran. A sufficient number of statistical samples were selected through a targeted and accessible sampling method for testing the model. The researcher-developed questionnaire, consisting of 68 items across 15 dimensions, was utilized. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was conducted using PLS3 software to test the model.

The findings showed interactions with non-sport organizations, interactions with sports organizations, economic factors , financial sponsors, human resources, securing sports equipment for developing championship sports, sports facilities, management-related factors, developing basic curriculum plans, applying appropriate evaluation systems, the role of families, organizing sports events to raise champions, focusing on extra-curricular programs in schools, utilizing media, the roles of teachers and school administrators, and individual factors to expand championship sports through educational participation are effective in developing championship sports and the GOF value for this study model was calculated as 0.704, indicating strong and highly appropriate fit.

It can be concluded that for the development of championship sports, the involvement of education and training in the field of educational sports should be expanded and enhanced, and for optimal performance in this ministry, it is essential to provide the required resources and infrastructure within this organization.
